Cat Show at Cal Expo this Weekend

imageJazzy Cats’Mardi Gras Madness” is coming to Sacramento this weekend at Cal Expo, 10 am to 4 pm each day.  Jazzy Cats is a local club affiliated with The International Cat Association (TICA), which recognizes 55 breeds of purebred cats for competitions.  But TICA is also the world’s largest registry of household cats, and allows former feral cats, strays and shelter cats to compete too.  The Mardi Gras show includes championship contests for household cats as well as the classic competitions between their more highly-bred felines.

Fourteen show rings will be in action during this event.  Besides the competitions, there will be many vendors offering cat trees, beds, toys, jewelry and more for the cat or the cat lover. There will also be a costume contest and cage decorating competition for the show cats.

There will be cats up for adoption at the event and proceeds from the show admission will benefit local rescue groups.
