Friday Films: The Siamese Cat Song

imageHow old were you when you saw the movie “Lady and the Tramp” for the first time?  Just in case you never had the delightful experience, Lady and the Tramp is a 1955 American animated film produced by Walt Disney and released to theaters on June 22, 1955.  It was the first animated feature filmed in the CinemaScope widescreen film process. The story centers on the romantic relationship between a beautiful American Cocker Spaniel (Lady) who lives with a refined, upper middle-class family, and a stray terrier-mix (Tramp) who lives on the streets.  The relationship has its ups and downs, as most romantic good-girl-bad-boy relationships do.  One of the antagonists to the story is a pair of pampered Siamese cats, aptly named Si and Am.

“We are Siamese if you please. We are Siamese if you don’t please”.
