Friday Films: Black Cat Appreciation

blackcatIn recognition of this Wednesday being Black Cat Appreciation Day, today’s Friday film is a video made by Sacramento Pet Rescue Reporter Val Heimerich, Helen’s Animal Rescue Team (HART), and Cats About Town Society (CATS) featuring a topic that is near and dear to our hearts:  black kitties.  Why do people overlook black cats and dogs at shelters?  There’s nothing prettier than a healthy, shiny ebony-black coat on an animal.  By the way, did you know that black cats are considered GOOD LUCK in England?

As always, there are too many pets in shelters that are black or black and white. Old wives tales and superstitions really seem to keep people from adopting these glorious, silky and loving creatures, which is inexplicable to those of us who have known and loved so many.     ~Valerie Heimerich

I Am A Black Cat

The next time you are in the market for a kitty, please consider adopting a black one!
