Promoting adoption, spay/neuter, and forever homes

Adoptathon A Big Success!

More than 16,000 pets’ lives were saved during the most recent PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend held in partnership with nearly 2,000 animal-welfare organizations throughout North America. The three-day event held Nov. 11-13 took place in nearly 1,200 PetSmart stores in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. The event was proudly sponsored by Purina Pro Plan, Tidy Cats and PetSmart stores in the U.S. and Purina Pro Plan, MAXX Scoop and PetSmart stores in Canada.

“The National Adoption Weekends continue to show how many people are willing to make a difference in the lives of homeless pets,” said Susana Della Maddalena, vice president and executive director of PetSmart Charities, Inc. “With the strong support of our animal-welfare partners throughout North America, we are helping more pets find the lifelong, loving homes that they deserve.”

LAPCATS placed a record-breaking 17 cats and kittens as part of the Adoptathon.  Both the SCACR (County animal shelter) and the SSPCA had tremendous adoption success that weekend too.

Here are a few of the lucky kitties that will celebrate happy holidays in their new homes:

Thea  Marley  Molly

Tux  Mikey 11-11

Tina  Runtie  FinleyJones

Also placed were Baker, Dulce, Buffy and Albert, Harry and Wills,  Alvin, Ben, and Gabby.  May they all live long and happy lives!
