Friday Films: Lions and Tigers and Panthers, Oh My!

Happy Easter! Or if you don’t celebrate Easter, Happy Spring!

Today’s Friday Film steps a little out of the box as we feature an Easter video by Big Cat Rescue out of Tampa, Florida.  Like our housecats, the big captive cats need some lifestyle enrichment too to keep them mentally and physically healthy. Big Cat Rescue made this video 3 years ago in an effort to have some fun while providing a break-in-the-usual-routine for both caretakers and the sanctuary cats.

Originally established in 1992 as a rescue with hopes of rehoming big cats, Big Cat Rescue now operates as an “educational sanctuary”.  Their mission includes ending the abuse and abandonment of captive exotic animals and promoting preservation of the species in the wild by (a) giving their cats the best care they can while (b) educating the public on the plight of these animals so that some day there will be no need for sanctuaries to exist. Big Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. For more information, see the Big Cat Rescue website.
